Driver's License and Vehicle Registration info:
If you have moved from in state:
Connecticut General Statutes 14-17a(a), and 14-45(a) say that you MUST notify the Department of Motor Vehicles of the new address within 48 hours for your vehicle registration(s) and your driver's license.
To change your address on your license and registration, you do not need to go to the Department of Motor Vehicles. You may come to the Easton Police Department, and pick up the necessary forms and stickers!
If you have moved from out of state:
Connecticut General Statute 14-12(a) says you must register your vehicle in Connecticut within 60 days.
Connecticut General Statute 14-36(b)(2) says you must obtain a Connecticut Driver's License within 30 days.
To do this you must go to the Department of Motor Vehicles.
Note! Connecticut General Statute 14-12(a)(2) states that if a resident of Connecticut operates a motor vehicle OWNED by him or her with out of state plates, it is a Misdemeanor Offense punishable by up to 1 year in prison and/or a $1,000.00 fine.
You must contact the Easton Police Department to obtain an ETP Sticker for you vehicle..
IMPORTANT: Residential Alarm info:
Per Town Ordinance, all residential burglar and fire alarms must be registered with the Easton Police Department. Failure to do so, can result in fines. To register your alarm, or find out more info, please stop by the Easton Police Headquarters, or call at 268-4111. |
